COMPETITIVE PARENTS MEETING - JULY 24TH 2008
This was the list of items that were discussed at our first General Meeting of the year....
-New website (www.thrilldancers.com)
-If you miss a meeting key points will be on the website
-Multicultural Festival, Rib Fest, Riverfest, and sidewalk sale performance opportunities (good to help
prepare for competition).
-Costume deposits 25.00 per costume
-C.D.T.A age levels for grade 4 (minimum age requirement)
-Entry fees (new schedule of when fees are due)
-Nigel our new Financial Director and the return of our lock box where you can drop of your cheques
-Tamara and Maria’s choreography (fees due by the end of summer camp)
- for solo, large and small group 310.00 (only for choreography begun at dance camp)
-Placements of choreography given at the end of the two weeks of dance camps
-Every other Sunday until November will be days for choreography( every child gets seen at least 20 times
before competition[group A or group B solos etc] for choreography)
-Latest choreograph time is 8p.m for inters and juniors 9-10 for seniors
- June 6th all jazz review June 7th all tap review for CDTA with CDTA exams starting the second weekend
of June
-Know one month in advanced when C.D.T.A times are
-Recital is May 24th
-December 21st is the Christmas potluck dinner/show from 4-6 (parents may bring munchies)
- Bring things for food bank instead of doing a gift exchange(recreational kids may do a gift exchange)
- Possibility of bringing someone (Catherine Allen from 5-6-7-8) in every once in a while to do a master tap
class
- Savannah Appleton lost a pair of black lace up jazz shoes size 7. Please look through your belonings
and call 613 498 1629 if you find them.
WORKSHOPS
-Corey will be coming down sometime from September to November for hip hop/ breaking workshop
-grace holding a workshop doing a jazz/ broadway/ bollywood workshop in August
- levels will not go by age they will go by ability of the dancer
BACK TO MEETING
-Choreographers– Maria, Tamara, Grace, maybe Danny and Corey
-Issues for dances on the ground the concrete is not so sincere on dance shoes(rolled up portable
flooring)
-fundraiser to get a floor put in for the rehersal area so it can be properly used
- Fundraiser ideas cookie dough, magazine subscriptions, cheese, toonie days, car washes, fridge for
studio with water, plant bulbs
-September 27th at 6 competitive parents meeting
